Plain-language summary: we collect very little, we use it to run the site and our newsletter, and we never sell or share your personal information. The detail is below.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you visit VisitHealdsburg.com (the “Site”). The Site is operated by 360 DEV LLC, a Michigan limited liability company. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” in this policy mean 360 DEV LLC in connection with operating the Site. By using the Site, you agree to this policy. The Site is an independent travel guide, and we are not affiliated with any winery, hotel, or restaurant it writes about.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you subscribe to our email list, we collect the email address you provide. If you use the contact form, we collect what you send. That is the only personal information we ask for.
- Analytics, only if you allow it. If you choose Allow, Google Analytics collects information about your visit, described under Analytics and cookies below. If you do not, it collects nothing.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, to operate and secure the service, as is normal for any website.
- Cookies. The Site sets no advertising cookies. Google Analytics cookies are set only if you choose Allow. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the Site will work normally.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which guides are useful. It stays off until you choose Allow, for every visitor wherever you are. When you allow it, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and collects the pages you view, how you arrived, approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. We never send Google your name, your email address, or anything you type into our forms. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not use analytics data for targeted advertising. Your analytics choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie.
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email only to send occasional Healdsburg planning notes and updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider in order to deliver them to us.
Third-party links
The Site links to wineries, hotels, restaurants, and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Their policies, not ours, govern your interactions with them.
Your privacy choices
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the button above or the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page. Choosing No thanks after Allow stops analytics and deletes its cookies.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a No: analytics stays off and we do not ask.
- Google’s opt-out. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on stops Google Analytics on every site that uses it.
- Your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The Site works fully without them.
- Do Not Track. Browsers can also send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for it, so we do not respond to it. We honor Global Privacy Control instead, as described above.
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from our emails. For your email address or anything you sent us, unsubscribe or reach us through our contact form. Analytics data is tied to a random ID in a cookie, not to your name or email, so the simplest way to control it is your analytics choice above.
US state privacy rights
Some US states, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas, give residents rights over their personal information, such as to know, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. To make a request about anything you sent us, use our contact form. We honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out.
Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
Analytics runs only with your prior consent, and you can withdraw it at any time as described under Your privacy choices. When you allow it, Google is the other party that receives analytics data, as described above. We use that information to run, protect, and improve the Site.
Data retention and security
We keep your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed. We use reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Children
The Site is about wine and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date below. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
