Privacy Policy

Plain-language summary: we collect very little, we use it to run the site and our newsletter, and we never sell or share your personal information. The detail is below.

This Privacy Policy explains how VisitHealdsburg.com (the “Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the Site. By using the Site, you agree to this policy. We are an independent travel guide and not affiliated with any winery, hotel, or restaurant we write about.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you subscribe to our email list, we collect the email address you provide. That is the only personal information we ask for.
  • Server logs. Because the Site uses no analytics or tracking, we do not collect analytics data about your visit. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, to operate and secure the service, as is normal for any website.
  • Cookies. The Site sets no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the Site will work normally.

Analytics and cookies

This website does not currently use analytics services, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies. Pages are served as static files and fonts are hosted on our own domain, so visiting this site does not send your information to third-party services. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first and any analytics will require your consent.

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites. Because this site does not track visitors, there is nothing for that signal to change, and we do not respond to it.

Email

If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email only to send occasional Healdsburg planning notes and updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider in order to deliver them to us.

Third-party links

The Site links to wineries, hotels, restaurants, and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Their policies, not ours, govern your interactions with them.

Your privacy choices

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted or cross-context advertising. You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from our emails. Because the only personal information we collect is an email address you choose to give us, you can exercise any of these choices simply by unsubscribing or by reaching us through our contact form.

Data retention and security

We keep your email address only for as long as you remain subscribed. We use reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Children

The Site is about wine and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date below. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Planning notes

The shortlist, before you go

A few times a year we send what is actually worth your time right now: the tasting rooms taking walk-ins, the rooms worth booking early, the weekend events we would build a trip around.

No spam. We never sell or share your email. Unsubscribe anytime.
